Will the Democrats make the same mistake today as they did in 94'?

Mistaking war weariness as some kind of mandate for change?

The nations still pretty clearly leans conservative as a whole. This can be seen with passage of prop 8 in a liberal state like California. If the Democrats attempt to make sweeping changes now, they will get a strong backlash in 2010 like they did in 1994.

Will Democrats be able to keep a hold of themselves? Will the Democrats make the same mistake today as they did in 94'?They will once the bush investigations begin.

Because if we don't do it the UN probably will.
Will the Democrats make the same mistake today as they did in 94'?
Like Obama said, we are in a new era, so I think we can keep control of things.
Will the Democrats make the same mistake today as they did in 94'?
They learned a valuable lesson. This time they'll use more force in quashing dissent.
It depends on which Democrat gets to speak the loudest over the next two years. If the moderates that took back control of the Congress get a voice, then I don't believe that Americans will find the Democratically controlled Congress to be so inept. However, if Pelosi and Reid make this a total liberal bash without listening and compromising with the Republicans and openly demeaning them in public as the Republicans over the past eight years, the support they garner in their own states will start to wane. Also, there is the subject of how effective this Congress is in working with the new President and getting things accomplished.

I can say this, though, it will take a lot more than two years for the Democrats to erode any kind of popularity they have over the Republicans considering the Republicans recent and much chronicled downfall. I would even venture to say that regardless fo what they Democrats do over the next two years, they will still retain control of the Congress. IF the economy starts to take a turn upward and people's confidence comes back, then Republicans are going to have wait for the next recession before gaining any kind of momentum.
No, impossible. They think they have a mandate. Lets just sit back and watch it dwindle.
