Natural selection is a much much much longer term process. But you don't seem to understand what traits remain and what do not. Cultures shift in the US with new immigrants, but the immigrants themselves change as much as the culture they join. Physical traits melt together over time. My wife is bi-racial and we are of different religions, so our kids will be quite the genetic mix.
