I was raised Christian but no longer go to church. But I always heard the USA referred to as a Christian nation. When did this change? You were misinformed. A Christian nation is one that has an official religion. For example, the United Kingdom is a Christian nation because the Church of England is the official religion. There are a number of Christian nations, mostly in Europe. The USA has no official religion. We were founded on the idea of complete freedom of religion, so that everyone could choose for him/herself what faith to follow, if any.
