I'm white and I live in New Mexico. 85% of my graduating class, (of 250,) was Hispanic. My sister married a Hispanic, my aunt married a Hispanic and my cousin married a Hispanic. Most of my friends are Hispanic.

It's hard for me to relate to your question because to me people are individuals and culture never enters my mind except that I love to learn about different cultural customs. If someone has a political career or good future it is because they will have to stand on their own merit as an individual, not what culture their ancestors came from.
