Back in the days, people here in my country, Norway, used to be opposed to homosexuality, just like a lot of Americans are today. That is different now, however. Gay marriage is legal here. Homophobia is generally frowned upon. Whereas in the past, male homosexuality used to be a criminal offense, as well as a psychological diagnosis.
But due to the influence of Norway%26#039;s first prominent gay activist, Kim Friele, and some other ones as well, things are different now. She stood her grounds and fought injustice and prejudice. She participated in debates and arranged demos. She never ever adopted a defeatist attitude and just decided to give up. And look where that got us!

Moreover, it doesn%26#039;t take much t see that opinions about homosexuality has changed significantly in just the past ten years, and it is reasonable to assume that publicizing their cause and creating sympathy with their cause will help to change more opinions.
