Surgical strike on Iran --- over 80 sites scattered over the nation ---?

Mini nukes or nuclear bunker busters --- 5 times the strength of those dropped on Japan

Surgical strikes ---- implies a war as much as an invasion force does --- Or at least it used to -- Does it still ? When did it change ?How should a nation be expected to react to a surgical strike of its infrastructure?I don't think most Americans understand the differences between Iraq and Iran... for ONE thing, Iran has a serious navy.
If Iran wanted to hurt us, there are several ways they could retaliate.
1. economically (read: oil trade)
2. naval blockade (read: strait of hormuz)
3. long range missiles used against our aircraft carriers in the gulf
Any one of these measures could severely cripple our ability to sustain our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan (our troops would be cut off from the bulk of their aid and resupply), and could quite possibly trigger a FULL SCALE WORLD WAR. The last time Iran was involved in a war, over 800,000 Iranians were killed (many by American mustard gas supplied to the Iraqis). They repelled the invasion.
If this plays out the way some of you seem to want it to, it could mean millions of innocent lives, on all sides.
Anyone who thinks a pre-emptive strike on Iran is a good idea, is completely insane. Especially a nuclear one. I don't think you understand the potential destructive magnitude of what you are suggesting.

A war with Iran would make Iraq and Afghanistan look like 2nd grade recess.
Not to mention that there is still NO evidence (according to the UN's own IAEA) that Iran is even attempting to build nuclear weapons.

Iran has known this was coming for years. It's no surprise. They have always tried to buy time. With Obama, they found it because he is such a wimp.
i don't think you can call it a surgical strike if you are using nukes 5 times the size of the original atomic bombs. Remember those bombs leveled entire cities...and you want them to be 5 times bigger...there will be 80 fewer cities in that country.
aside from that...i think any country would retaliate if able.

Yep, it is pretty much a declaration of war. As to how they react. That is up to the party that was struck to decide.

If your speaking of Israel, well they are already being struck by rockets and suicide bombers constantly. If the arabs, not just Iran could do anything more. They would already be doing it.

A surgical strike on Iran would document the existence of wholesale insanity in the government of the nation that initiates an attack on Iran... A strike on Iran will cause world war three... Maybe a serious strike against Israel would be more feasible... The hate for Israel is the primary reason Iran wants nuclear weapons... I don't condone a military strike anywhere; including Israel or Iran. But, the BP incident in the Gulf of Mexico clearly highlights the need for the masses to revolt against the elites... Big business and international bankers are from where these human desires to attack our neighbors are beginning...
