I perceive many posters think it is okay to have a Muslim/Muslim sympathizer in the White House but are adamantly against having a Christian.
America was founded on Christian values and most of our fore-bearers were Christian. The Islamic nation has different goals and values than the America values. You know I was thinking of something similar to that just this morning. It seems like liberals are always trying to preach tolerance of the poor, the gay, the religiously diverse so on and so on. But give them a upper-middle class white woman who is a devout christian and she is the devil!

How do you figure we are turning into a muslim nation? First off this is a country where we are given the freedom of practicing whatever religion we choose so everyone should be thankful for that. The founders of this country even though they were christians believed we should have this right. I am a somewhat persecuted Catholic who lives in the Bible Belt of the South. I know all too well what religious persecution feels like. I won't do that to another American.

We are not a christian nation. We are an all of the above or none of the above nation. Everyone is entitled to practice what they want. That is the beauty of America and that is what people like you are ruining.
Are adamantly against having a christian that would let his/her personal beliefs go into policy and impose it on everybody else who do NOT share such beliefs. Personally i couldn't care less if the candidate was a Satanist as long as he/she didn't try to convince me to be one OR imposed his/her lifestyle on me.
Well. Both religions are viewed and respected. I'm not for Muslim believes, because arabs are a bunch of wife beating chauvinists. And I am not for Christians wholly, because they are so against the LGBT community. Now, some Christians are okay and some aren't. We should all try to be tolerant of each others beliefs and not force them on others. Believe in what you want, but be tolerant. Don't hate.

It's not like Bush, being a christian and all, did a whole lot other than bring the economy into a recession and put the nation at war. Doesn't seem like we're headed in the right direction does it. Most of the world looks down upon America's politics, and I'm not only talking about the Middle East. Most of Europe and Asia do as well, as was seen during the start of the Iraq war.

First of all, Obama is not a Muslim, as he has stated many times. Second of all, this country was founded mostly on Deist beliefs, not Judeo-Christian ones. Thomas Jefferson did not believe in God. Finally, we pride ourselves on being a melting pot of different cultures. Unfortunately, xenophobes like you continue to misinterpret anything less Christian than the New Testament as sacreligious.

This country is right now in a state of denial when it comes to the real issues of this election many peole are unemployed or underemployed as a result of the free trade agreement EXPANSION under the current administration. The fact also remains that Barack Obama has on many times expressed that he is NOT Muslim and religion is not the defining fact of a Presidential nominee if you belief so you are an idiot.
I would vote for a canidate which stands for ACTUAL middle class instead of one so blind as to belief that middle class is anyone who makes less than 5 million a year.
