Why hasn't the US added a 51st state yet, why isn't the US an imperial nation?

It clearly acts like an imperial nation through %26quot;regime change%26quot; but that seems to backfire a TON. When will the US start conquering countries and replacing the foreign governments with US administrations?

The first territory conquered could be called Area 1 or State 51 or something like that.

Also, why haven't the islands off the coast of the US joined as states yet? There are so many of them! We could probably add another 10 states alone just from these islands. Why hasn't the US added a 51st state yet, why isn't the US an imperial nation?American has been, and still acts as an imperial country. It took over Cuba and the Philippines as colonies losing Cuba in 1961 to Castro and granting sovereignty to the Philippines on July 4, 1946, although maintaining control of a number of military bases until the 1980's.

Hawaii was a British Island stolen by stealth by the US.

Texas and California were parts of Mexico until taken by force by the US.

It still acts as an Imperialistic nation by its actions around the world, invading independent countries and destabilising others.

Why hasn't the US added a 51st state yet, why isn't the US an imperial nation?
You are right. America has taken a lot of oversea territory all over the world. But there is no 51st state because the local people are not strong enough to form a state government. California was an example: it wasn't a state until people in California formed a local government and sent the request to be a state.
