Is changing the colors of your nations flag to a rainbow (or anything else), disrespectful to the country?

yesIs changing the colors of your nations flag to a rainbow (or anything else), disrespectful to the country?Nope. I don't think so. It's just a piece of cloth, my national pride resides in my heart, not hanging from a flagpole somewhere.

Edit: to the person who called me a tool - I do NOT disrespect my country. I've lost friends in Iraq, I know the sacrifices our military folks have made and continue to make. But I don't just hang a flag and say %26quot;ok cool, i'm patriotic%26quot;. I feel it and live it. Do you?

yes i think so to a degree

Most definitely disrespectful to history. But more importantly, why would you?
I know the flag is supposed to represent a nation's history, etc. But I also see it as just a piece of cloth. I always stand and salute the flag at a parade, my Father was a Veteran, so I know about the sacrifices and stuff.

But it's still only a piece of cloth in the end. If you don't feel and act what it stands for, it means nothing.
Depends.

If it is a change that all people will be forced to recognize and pledge their allegiance - yes.

If it is a change for, say, a political event or organization - no.

EDIT: Why is this even an issue? Didn't the Supreme Court even state that something as %26quot;flag burning%26quot; is protected under Free Speech?

That being the case - why so much hostility about this. The law has been clearly stated. Either recognize and respect it, or not.
Now you see the problem with Y/A and some individuals in this country. Don't agree with someones answer, report it and get it deleted. Sad, very sad. I've served and spilt blood defending this country and its ideals. The flag represents this country, it's ideals and the people who protect it. Disrespecting the flag %26quot;is%26quot; disrespecting our country, those who died protecting it and those who continue to protect it.

.
Disrespectful? no. But it's offensive to some people. I wouldn't do that if it could create an anger to the rednecks. They could have shot me!
