I don%26#039;t want our nation being run by the government. What ever happened to we the people? I love capitalism and why does Obama want to change our nation to socialism without we the peoples consent?|||Obama isn%26#039;t trying to make the US Socialist. He%26#039;s attempting to administer the recession in a way that serves capitalist interests. Government ownership is a form of capitalism, and has nothing to do with Socialism (a moneyless classless world community).|||Obama may be representing a country, which have faith in Capitalism,
but Capitalism does not mean a government should betray its own people. And probably that is why OBAMA prefers India to be a really socialistic country, where 80 percent of people even after 60 years of independence and self rule, still rot in acute pover, without education, without light, without any health care, shelter till today. If you look at things more closely you will see that everything that is happening, now, is meant to allow government more power, and expand their business. Obama, has been steadily pushing this very thing into existence. Some people are naive into believing that our gov%26#039;t is looking out for us, but in reality the gov%26#039;t is only looking out for itself.
If Obama has his way with health care, the gov%26#039;t will soon compete with Blue Cross/Blue Shield; Met-life; Cigna, and every other major health care provider. Why wouldn%26#039;t the gov%26#039;t want to be a part of the largest and fastest growing industry? There is a lot of money to be made in health care. Gov%26#039;t has forced its way into the financial industry, also. There is a lot that can be said about this, but the main thing is, gov%26#039;t now controls the financial market. That%26#039;s Power! Not to mention the money they will acquire.
I could go on and on, but the most important thing is that you have to remember that the fed gov%26#039;t is a big business and their main objective is control %26amp; power over us. Socialist or Communist? You take your pick.|||you%26#039;re wrong. Obama is doing the smart thing and balancing regulation/socialized practices with a capitalist society. Read up on the Guilded Age, most capitalist era in American history. It was also the most corrupted and god-awful era in american politics and social history. True capitalism is evil just like communism.
Remember Enron? They were super capitalists during a very deregulated period and they screwed over California intentionally. Regulation is necessary to ensure the rule of law. But yes, i do concede that total socialism is equally a failure. I think Obama is doing what he can to approach a happy middle.

The revenue for these programs most always comes from working class citizens in the form of higher taxes.
