After the nation's transition to digital broadcast tv, what benefits will I exactly get?

I already am a subscriber to regular cable. But will I get more when the nation changes to digital cable. Do I get more channels?|||People with cable or Dish/Direct will see NO CHANGE when the switch to digital takes place on February 17 2009.

People who use an antenna will need to make a change unless their tv already has a built-in digital ATSC tuner.|||It%26#039;s the first move towards to getting all TV companies to broadcast in HD. This digital move will not benefit the consumer. It will only add complexity to people%26#039;s home theaters. If you have an old TV, you gotta buy a digital converter.

You will not get more channels. In fact, you may get less channels. Cable companies have been slowly moving channels from analog to digital packages.
