Was anyone else distressed when they watched Fast Food Nation or read the book?

Reading the book has made me go off fast food. I havent eaten fast food in a couple of years now since reading it.

I watched the movie and I felt so sorry for the slaughterhouse workers, particularly the women. To think, some women in slaughterhouses still suffer through that makes me ill.

Definitely a life changing book for me.

Anyone else? Was anyone else distressed when they watched Fast Food Nation or read the book?I was definitely freaked out after reading that book but after a few months I started eating fast food again. I think the best that could come from the book is an organized boycott of McDonald's until they change their beef standards and therefore change beef standards across America. I think that franchisees need to unionize so they can lobby for more legal protection.
