I think that this is an excellent sign for the future. Obama is not selecting just a bunch of %26quot;good ol' boys%26quot; or just a group of folks who supported him personally (good ol' buddies), like a certain previous president whom we don't like to mention because it makes our blood-pressure rise dangerously high. He is selecting people who actually know a lot about the area they will be dealing with. He is also borrowing a page from the book of past president, Abraham Lincoln, who drew even from the ranks of his former opponents, in order to get a wide diversity of opinions. This is a wise move when facing a gigantic crisis. It bodes well for the future because it shows he's not afraid to listen to opinions other than his own, he's not afraid to listen to real facts before making up his mind (rather than making up his mind and then enlisting some backward non-entity to invent some factoids that will tend to support his predetermined %26quot;conclusions%26quot;), and he's not afraid of science. What a change! What a breath of fresh air! There may be hope for us all yet!
